PATNA: Impressed by the novelty and success of the state
BJP’s mega meet of its workers here on Saturday, the party’s national leaders have decided to organise such meets in other states too.
State party chief Dr C P Thakur said on Sunday, “The workers’ meet was the first by any party here. It was a new and successful concept. The leaders felt it could be taken as a model and organised in other states too.”
Thakur told media that the state BJP had become an independent entity in the state, and it could not be deemed as B-team of the JD (U) in the Bihar NDA. “There is no difference with the JD(U) in relation to the mega meet. It was purely our party programme,” Thakur said, adding: “The BJP, at the national level, will always remain the first party in the
NDA, because it gets more seats.”
Among those who accompanied him were Pandit Hari Shankar Sharma, Sanjay Mayukh, Sudhir Kumar Sharma, Dhirendra Singh, Rakesh Kumar Singh, Amit Ranjan and Ashok Bhatt. “The one clear message of the meet was that the people of the state were worked up over the magnitude of corruption at the Centre,” Thakur said, adding: “The people of the state think that it has gone out of control. No action is being taken to bring back the black money stashed in Swiss banks. People are agitated over it.”
Meanwhile, Thakur, who is also a Rajya Sabha member, on Sunday inaugurated the operationalization of lane number 23 in Nehru Nagar, constructed with MP Local Area Development (LAD) fund.
